McDonald’s Monopoly Game - 2007 Rare Pieces, Prizes and Odds

The 2007 McDonald’s Monopoly game is underway, so for all of you cholesterol loving lottery players (like myself) I’ve compiled the list of rare pieces, prizes and odds.
Here is the list of prizes, odds, and required pieces. The known “rare pieces” are in bold.

- Mediterranean Avenue and Baltic Avenue - Odds are 1 in 33,616
- $100 prize
- Reading Railroad, Short Line, B&O Railroad, and Pennsylvania Railroad - 1 in 2,094,076
- $500 prize
- Connecticut, Avenue Vermont Avenue, and Oriental Avenue - 1 in 33,752,584
- $1,000 prize
- Virginia Avenue, States Avenue, and St. Charles Place - 1 in 33,752,584
- $5,000 prize
- New York Avenue, Tennessee Avenue, and St. James Place - 1 in 168,762,143
- $10,000 prize
- Illinois Avenue, Indiana Avenue, and Kentucky Avenue - 1 in 56,069,351
- $25,000 prize
- Marvin Gardens, Ventnor Avenue, and Atlantic Avenue - 1 in 186,829,657
- $50,000 prize
- Pennsylvania Avenue, North Carolina Avenue, and Pacific Avenue - 1 in 186,829,657
- $1,000,000 prize
- Boardwalk and Park Place - 1 in 184,698,474. This one is different in that there are 3 prizes “seeded” over the course of the game. One of three winning pieces (Boardwalk) will be released during week 2 (10/9/07-10/15/07), week 3 (10/16/07-10/22/07) and week 4 (10/23/07-10/29/07).

I remember last year eBay was flooded with people selling and buying pieces. Worse yet, some were selling a list of rare pieces when the information is freely distributed over the internet in places like this.
There have even been three auctions, all by the same person, advertising that they hold the Boardwalk piece. A piece, which you just revealed is not available until next week. His hook was to send him money and a reason why he should give it to you.

Very true. That’s why my offer to pay $500k for Boardwalk was tongue in cheek. If you have a rare piece, $10 a McDonald’s would more than likely net you the common pieces.

I just saw on another website that the rare pieces that we need are on different parts of the country. The east gets so-and-so game pieces, and the west gets the others. Yeah thats fair. NOT!

Notice something strange about those odds?
The odds of winning one of the 50 $5000 prizes are about the same as the odds of winning one of the five $50,000 prizes. The rules say that the odds are based on “getting the entire combination” instead of the odds of finding just the rare piece; I have a feeling there are far more, say, Pacific Avenues than there are St. James’s Places.
As for the “low” odds on the million dollar prize, I would not be surprised if each of the three Boardwalk pieces is “paired” with a Park Place (so if one of the two game stamps on an item is Boardwalk, the other is Park Place), in order to (a) make sure somebody who finds a Boardwalk wins, and (b) prevent somebody with a Boardwalk from selling it to someone with a Park Place.
(Another reason 50/50 offers won’t work: all of the rare pieces have phone numbers that you’re supposed to call when you get all of the pieces of that color.)

I’m pretty sure I don’t have much as I have the worst luck in the world but, can someone please tell me if I have a piece worth looking at? Should I look for the Park Place piece now? Also, Surfindad said that the Boardwalk piece wouldn’t be released till later in the month but I”m pretty damn sure that my piece says “Boardwalk” on it. Whats the deal?
Also, do we have to go to the website, enter the code and LAND on the actual piece we have for this to work? I’m not understanding the connection between the pieces you have to collect, and the pieces you land on on the website.

For some reason its not letting me submit my post. Anyways, I think I got boardwalk? Is this possible? I got a piece last night that says “Boardwalk” and “$1,000,000″ on it. It says either 821 or 822 on it. Question #1 is, according to surfindads post, this piece shouldn’t even be out yet so how did I get it? Question #2 is, do I need to land on Boardwalk with the online game, or are the physical pieces the only thing you need?

The people who comment about how McDonald’s wouldn’t cheat, they have to follow certain rules, etc are obviously unaware of the fiasco a few years back. Their guy in charge of secrecy had all his buddies cash in the top prizes and they split them. They wouldn’t have been found out except his wife got pissed that he didn’t give her enough hush money. got a true story for you guys. in 1998 my wife, then girlfriend was at stanford hospital by her sisters side as she was giving birth to her first child. my wife stepped away for a minute to grab some mcdonalds at the Stanford shopping center there in Palo Alto, Ca.
She got back to the hospital room w/ the rest of her family when she peeled the game piece off her big mac and saw she had gotten boardwalk. Back then she was playing for fun and not to serious about it so she didnt know to much about the winning combos and which were “rare” and common pieces but she was pretty sure that she had park place at home already.
She mentioned to her mom that she might have won a prize and to remind her to check when they got home. later that night after the excitment of her nephew being born my wife and her mom were half way home (2 hour drive from where they lived) remembered they forgot the Mcd’s bags in the hosp. room one of the bags of course had boardwalk w/ a couple other game pieces in it. She called the room and her sister said the nurse had already cleaned up and thrown all the garbage out. When my wife got back to her house she did in fact have park place then checked a gameboard she had lying around and discovered yes those two pieces together were worth 1,000,000 dollars. that SUCKS huh, but i swear this is the truth. so now the chances of winning in our lifetime is pretty much over, but its nice ta dream

Haha, this makes me laugh…
I work at McDonalds, and I peel off all the game stickers on the wasted food (by the end of the night I have about 60-80) and I’ve found that the odds are somewhat better if you play the online game.
Also, Park Place is one of the most commonly distributed pieces… I think I have 12 sitting in my desk drawer. I’ll give you eleven of them if you want. But that’s the point: you think you’re special because you have Park Place, but good luck finding Boardwalk.
I think I also have about nine free medium fries sitting there as well… they’re up for grabs, seeing as I refuse to eat the crap I make.

there’s a phenomenon called “the gambler’s fallacy.” basically, people think that independent events are somehow dependent. for instance, thinking you are “due” a “good” card/slot roll/game piece. it also works the other way– if you found boardwalk years ago and lost it, you can still find boardwalk again– your chance is just as good as anyone else’s. look at the odds/chances of getting certain game pieces. then think of that many millions of pennies filling a room/house/stadium, with one canadian penny mixed in. what are the chances each time you draw a penny from the pile you’ll get the canadian cent? very very very small. and *****that probability of drawing that coin is the same each time you draw!!!***** your chance of getting a game piece is the same *each time.* people are way better off putting their time and money into investments like stocks or index funds rather than lotteries, etc. put $20 a week away for 30 years into the stock market & see what happens… but– most folks just have no cents….

it’s possible to win….just because your chances of winning are so slim it’s basically pointless to attempt it doesn’t mean it’s impossible to score a boardwalk somewhere. i mean take into account how many mcdonald’s there are in north america. then take into account how many people buy food there and how many packages they have to manufacture to put that food in. and there are THREE of these little boardwalk pieces randomly strewn about north america. your chances are basically none. (so all the people on this board are ridiculous for saying they have one). i think the point is to have fun, get some free food out of the deal and not try to cheat each other into making money. but i guess thats just me. whatever.

ok i ve been playing the online game, and i was wondering if theres rules against it being rigged, cause it obviously is. i own pretty much all the properties except for 1 for each set, and it is clear that when you roll the dice that you wont land on one of the spaces you need to win. i have been arround the board about 3 times since i have had most of the pieces and when ever i get close to winning something when i roll it will sorta do a “double” roll and spin faster then normal, almost as if it were resetting and rolling again. This ONLY happens when i have a really good chance of landing on a piece i need, and happens every time, are there rules against this?

THis game is fun and definitely increases revenue for McDonalds in the month or so that it runs for. However, its nearly impossible to win….the whole thing is a scheme…and its just as bad as gambling…I know people who go just for the Monopoly stamps…i’m 17 and I know not to play this game…they make you think ur gna win by giving you every stamp BUT the rare ones so of course your not going to win…its nearly impossible lol. When i was 12 I was sucked into this nonsense….don’t get me wrong its fun but a waste of money because the most you will ever win is a soda or a free sandwich at best which is intended to get you back into McDonalds to spend more money.

Just to let you all know. I play McDonald’s Monopoly online daily. Twice, I’ve landed on wining properties and a black or dark green screen popped up without instructions. I would log back into the game and it was like I never even landed on Boardwalk. Yes, Boardwalk. I called and email McDonald’s corp about the situation. The first time I landed on Kentucky Ave and the second time was Boardwalk. I am very disappointed in the McDonald’s Monopoly game and cannot believe this was their intention.

I have the Tennessee Ave. piece that i saw on this site was supposed to be rare but I cant find any New York pieces. I also have the St. James Place as well. The only reason I kept the TN piece was because thats where i live. So realize that alot of people are down on this but hey ill give it a try …. I would dish over some earnings for a new york piece… I’ll have a legal contract written by by attoney to go with it. Even after taxes a few bucks in the hand never hurts.
